I recently replaced the Transmission Gear Grease because of a cracked gear shifter boot that allowed water to leak into the fluid.
I have now replace the fluid but I have no hydraulic pressure and remove the pump to check it out and have good inlet suction and discharge pressure by feel, it has been suggested that I need to prime the pump, at what fitting would I induce the new fluids. Inlet to pump from filter point or discharge line
fitting going to 3-point at left rear side of tractor which would allow fluids to gravity to pump.

If your old fluid had water in it, it would be best if you also removed and cleaned the inlet screen. Water often creates a sludge that blocks the screen and can cause the pump not to prime.

Just follow your suction line to the sump. Remove the line and plate behind it, the screen should be there. Clean and reinstall.

I just re-installed the pump and had already cleaned the filter.
I disconnected the discharge line from the pump at the connection
at the left side of tractor under the seat and started the tractor to see if
I could get pressure at that point but it didn't discharge any fluid, I still think I may have to open that flange and pour Hydraulic fluid into the line to attempt to prime the pump from the discharge side.
Not sure but we'll take another shot to make sure.

i would open that connection under the seat on the larger hydralic line. that should be the suction line.if fluid comes out u do not have a blockage in the hydralic screen which is inside the case.if the pump is sucking there may not be the need for primeing.good luck

oh make sure that the o rings are installed properly on the pump lines if u have a leak in the suction line u may not be able to suck up oil.

I believe we have found the problem on the 550G.
The shaft has worn off inside of coupling on the pump side.
It there a rebuild kit, used, or new pump available?

I can supply you with a new or used pump.

Update on Hydraulic Problem.
I recently purchased a use pump for this tractor but wasn't really happy with the original coupling. A friend of mine directed me to our local Area Votec Machine shop and they were able to make a new coupling. Haven't installed the pump so not sure how it will match up with the pulley but will keep you informed.
