Satoh beaver III what years?

I have a Satoh beaver III which was orginally sold by a IH dealer.
I want to know what years this model was made and if there is a way to know when mine was made.

I have a book titled "Official Guide, Tractors and Farm Equipment" from the fall of 1993. It lists many brands, years made, etc. It shows this tractor was made from 1979 to 1989. For the more popular brands you can tell the year by the serial number listed in this book. It is not available for the Satoh and Mitsubishi. They made similar compacts for International. The 234 was made from 85 to 86. Then the 235 was made from 86 to 92. The only difference noted in this book was that the 235 has overrunning clutch on the pto. Len or Bill may post here and tell more. Do you have your serial number?

Sad to say but your reference guide is not correct. Mitsubishi and Satoh merged in 1980 and the Satoh name was gradually phased out. Shortly after the merger, the tractors carried the Satoh/Mitsubishi decals until sometime in 1983. The Satoh Beaver III was discontinued at that time and replaced by the MT 160 (MT for Mitsubishi Tractor.) The Satoh name was no longer used. I've been a dealer since 1979 so I have been in a unique position to witness the changes. Hope this helps.
