Satoh Beaver s-370d
I recently purchased a Satoh Beaver 4x4 with what appeared to be a small rusted area on the rear wheel. After i broke the tire down and cleaned the wheel up, I find I need a wheel. I have talked to Valley Power and he has one but i do not have the money or time to drive up to his place right now. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of the what the bolt pattern the wheels use. Also, I have read the "angry beaver" thread and see that the wheels off a ford 1220 will fit. Does anyone know of any others that would also work?

This tractor runs like a champ and the only thing wrong is this wheel. I can't put the beaver down because of a bum foot.

The ford 1210, 1220 and 1230 ( i think that last one is the same) are all the same bolt pattern, but the offset is slightly different. It didn't matterto me, as I had the wheels flipped for a wider stance, but if you are only getting one wheel the offset is slightly different. I think it was 1 inch or possibly 1 1/2". I took pics with a tape measure before I traded them, and and I can measure the ford wheels.

Have you thought about having the wheel welded and repaired? that might be your best/easiest/quickest solution. Balancing shouldn't be an issue in a low speed application like a tractor

good luck, let me know if you want detailed measurements of the satoh and ford wheels

yeah i have been trying to weigh all options. i am planning on fixing this wheel regardless just because i dont plan to get rid of the tractor in the near future and an extra wheel is always a good thing. The offset really does not matter to me either as the wheels are turned around for the wider stance. I was mainly after the bolt patern to see if there were a cheaper way to get wheels (junk yard, ect). When i talked to the gentleman at Valley, he had told me there was no buying a new one and I know there are a butt load of these tractors still going. I would appreciate you taking time to measure those ford wheels if you get a chance. no rush.

By fluke a buddy found a Kubota mounted tire at a yard sale and did not need the rim so I have it as a spare.
That Kubota rim is an exact match to my MT180D front, so there is a possibility out there.
I can get the part # off of the rim if that helps.
As to a rear rim, forget it as the Mitsu rear is unique to Mitsu as is the tire. Tire is no longer produced.

OK, went and read the markings on my spare rim.

mfr 1987 with part no 24906, rim is yellow and setback is about 1 inch more than the Mitsu original with a paint stamping.
Other die stampings show CAN AM 50A-3-9-57-3-4, these were die stamped and are probably a sub contractor's production codes.
The rim is yellow in color.

I found plenty of the tires thru American Tire Distributors in either ag size: 8-16 and 9.5-16. They are made by Carlise and also by Sutong. Both are chinese built but you can still get them.

My Mit came with 19" rear turfs and therein lies the problem.
To change to readily available tires I would need to get new rims + tires and in all probability need to change the fronts to maintain the proper lead ratios as my MIT is a 4 X 4 and I have no intentions of damaging the frt differential.
Also I have no intention in spending more for rubber than I paid for the tractor.
With shipping and taxes above actual rim costs I'd be $1000 poorer, I am sure.
I did last year get the last pair of proper tires to be found in Canada and they are now mounted however they have started developing weather check cracks near the rim.
Firestone/Goodrich did offer free replacements but want the tires back LOL, so I get to drive on rims?
We did settle on a 50% refund on actual tire cost for which I am waiting over 2 months to receive.

That sucks... Our Satohs and Mitsu 4x4 beavers came with 9.5-16 turfs with 6-12 fronts or the ag size was 8-16 and 5-12 fronts. the 2wd beavers had 18rear wheels. that is a bummer that yours has 19". I changed the size of mine when I went to ags in the bigger sizw (9.5-16 & 6-12). I would look at getting different rims/tires off of another tractor. As long as the ratio is the same, you'd be ok....

I should check the size of the rears on my JD. Factory AG tires were the same size ratio as you have on your Beaver - 9.5-16/6-12. I'm thinking my rears are 9.5-16 in R4... with 23x8x12 fronts. Modify a set of front wheels for bolt pattern and you have a very common tire size. Harder to steer but likely nicer overall.

techwrtr2, would you have time to measure the bolt circle of your tractors rear tire? looking at some internet pictures of a JD855, the bolt pattern looks right. Actually, if you are just feeling froggy or something, if you could try one of the wheels from one of your tractors to the other, that would answer the question as well. If it worked, i know we could still get a new wheel from Deere and just repaint them. (or not and confuse people.)

I am going to visit Valley Power next monday to hopefully pick up a new (used) wheel or 2. Who know what other parts i may find that i can not live without.
