I am looking for a three-point hitch kit for the little beaver. It now has a strange hitch that only fits a tiller. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I am also not totally certian about the model, the tractor has been painted thoroughly and the only identifing marks I can find is the name "beaver" on the engine cowling and "ST1300" stamped on the transmission.
Any help greatly apreciated.

Post down on the grey market forum, you will be directed to various vendors that sell the 3pt parts for small japanese tractors. Not hard to find, will cost you a hundred bucks or a bit more....

regarding model, does your tractor say S370 on the serial plate? There were a few generations of the Beaver, mine is an S370 Beaver with all the decals, even a little beaver head on the side; oddly some of these tractors have a backwards running PTO (not very useful) mine happens to have standard PTO, but smaller Cat 0 lift arms....not sure why....

This tractor has been repainted poorly so I really cant see any other markings then the decal that was not painted, which says "satoh beaver" and the number "st1300" stamped right before the serial number. Is there an actual plate on yours and where is it located?
Thanks for the reply.

If you have a decal saying "Beaver" it is a S370 Satoh Beaver which was a U S market tractor. Most of the tractors were stamped ST1300 which was the factory number. S370 was the sales model number. I have manuals and lots of parts for this tractor. Call toll free 1-800-609-5110. Bill Rodgers - satohparts.com

Can anyone tell me if a regular 4 foot schredder can be used behind this tractor of the PTO is a reverse model? assuming the shredder had a gearbox that would rotate in reverse? or is there an adapter that I can buy?

Texasjetman, I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. Some of the Beavers have reverse rotating PTOs, and some do not. A regular brush hog will not cut well if run spinning the opposite direction its blades are designed to go. I don't think it will hurt the gearbox-the ones I've seen would work either way. Agrisupply sells some reverse rotation blades and give you a machine number from the Kodiak company. You may call them and see if they'll do a reverse rotation 4 foot cutter. You also might be able to find reverse cut blades for their smaller cutter.

There used to be a PTO reverser manufactured by Hub City, and maybe others. They are hard to find, and expensive. The ones I have seen would pay for most, if not all, of a 4 foot cutter alone. Somewhere around $600 and up, for the ones I've found for sale. (They may be cheaper elsewhere, but locally that's all I've seen.)

Check to make sure your PTO isn't a "normal" (clockwise looking from the rear of the tractor) rotation drive. The machine also may have a smaller shaft with more splines than normal. Adapters are available to bring them to a 6 spline 1 3/8" shaft.
