Several Fords, four Japanese tractors
I made a stop at Pittsburgh Tractor in East Texas on the way home from West Kentucky Tractor this week and picked up a used tow bar and a modified front bumper for my old 8N.

I thought I'd like the bigger bumper to keep brush from wacking my head lights and the tow bar to give me another option towing the hog getter into and out of tight places.

I used a wire wheel and carb cleaner to get most of the grease, dirt and rust off all the parts then primed and painted them with Ford Red from Tractor Supply.

After I got the parts installed I was surprised at the contrast between the two year old paint and the new paint.

That's ok because the new will get dirty soon enough!:D

The only real problem was cleaning out the stud holes on the bottom of the tractor. 60 years of crud stuck in them things!

I can't wait to get it back to the ranch and try it out.

Enjoy the photos.

Scotty I paid $50 for the hitch and the bumper. It sounds cheap but man they were ugly when I started and I had to find some studs, a ball and lot of paint and carb cleaner.

What a pretty pink tractor! :D

He He!

When I bought this tractor it was so ugly that a few years ago I stripped it down and cleaned it up, then primed and painted it with the same Ford Red paint I used yesterday.

I'm guessing that the difference in color is the fact that most of the time the tractor is not in the barn but the hot Texas sun all day and fading.

If I painted it hot pink I'd get a lot of looks!

I got the tractor out to the ranch this afternoon and tried the new old hitch out.

I moved the trailer around a little bit then I hauled a 227lbs wild boar hog down to the hog bone pile.

Worked real good.

I think I'll really like the hitch.

Just something to look for. . . Your drawbar might be a little long for a rotary cutter. I took a chunk out of my factory drawbar before I realized it was about 1" too long when it was in the most extended position.

Your front brush guard is great, but it does remind me of a recycled single bed headboard.;):)
