I made a stop at Pittsburgh Tractor in East Texas on the way home from West Kentucky Tractor this week and picked up a used tow bar and a modified front bumper for my old 8N.
I thought I'd like the bigger bumper to keep brush from wacking my head lights and the tow bar to give me another option towing the hog getter into and out of tight places.
I used a wire wheel and carb cleaner to get most of the grease, dirt and rust off all the parts then primed and painted them with Ford Red from Tractor Supply.
After I got the parts installed I was surprised at the contrast between the two year old paint and the new paint.
That's ok because the new will get dirty soon enough!
The only real problem was cleaning out the stud holes on the bottom of the tractor. 60 years of crud stuck in them things!
I can't wait to get it back to the ranch and try it out.
Enjoy the photos.
