Just wanted to make everyone aware if you have not already seen this idea, this is useful if you have farm animals, especially GOATS who love to waste hay. These 250g tote cages fit snugly a 4x4 round bale.
I forgot where i saw this idea, but it works very well.

Go ya one better....I built this one to hold a 4x5 round bale. The front gate is welded square tubing, hinged to insert a roll. Keeps the hay dry, and the don't waste too much.

I made this one a few years ago. Normally put a 4x4 round in. The sides go down as the bale shrinks. Or you can fasten the sides up to limit consumption.

I built a similar one that is larger. Takes 5x6 bales. It has slowed the horses down to a more reasonable amount and very little hay loss.

I do like the OP idea. It is easy and pretty much free.

I have used it for about 4 years in Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plains. In that time, we have had many violent storms with 80+ MPH winds and never had an issue. When in use, it does not sit on the tires. The tires are removed and each corner sits on the ground. Empty it weights over a 1,200 pounds.
