Power Trac PT425 2001 Model Year
My brother in law stopped by yesterday and told me he saw a tractor similar to our PT425, but it had a back hoe on it. It was out by my mother in law's house, and we were on our way to Easter dinner there anyway, so we took a 1 mile detour and there it was, a 2425. The wife wasn't too happy and the kids were like, "Oh, man, dad! Not another tractor." So we kept driving. I' have to stop by later and introduce myself and check it out. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just took a glance at the PT web site to remind myself what a PT-2425 looked like, and was kind of surprised not to see a ROPS on the one on the T8 page. Those things sit quite a bit higher than the PT-425. I don't think I would like to operate one on anything but flat ground. I wonder how they are able to sell them without a ROPS. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

When I purchased by 1430, I really went to buy a 425. At the time, ROP was an option on the 425 but standard on the 1430. I was told that Virginia law determined whether ROP was required or not and it was determined based upon horsepower. That was why it was standard on the 1430. Could have been sales talk.

I think all the newer ones I've ever seen have the ROPS installed. The website pages says that ROPS is standard on the 2425 now.

All 25hp and up have always come standard with ROPS. The 425, 2425, and old 1425 all have ROPS. As always some photos do not always reflect a standard machine. 22hp and are not required to have ROPS, maybe the photo shows the older 2422, which is same frame as 2425 or perhaps a 2425 with canopy removed!
Price sheets and specs are more accurate than photos.

Hee hee hee. They take after their mother in that regard. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

BTW, the oldest cut her hair and donated it to locks of love over Christmas vacation. She had about 14" cut off to send in, then decided to trim about 2" more. It is now only half way down her back! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
