I have 3 sons and one daughter who gave us 12 grandkids.. I gave each son and daughter a Golden Retriever puppy so the kids would have a faithful companion while growing up.I too know how hard it is to lose a friend. They say "Time heals all wounds" but they never say how long a time is..

My sympathy for your loss... If you fully enjoy the company of a pet, making them part of your home life, then losing them always really hurts. I have buried two special cats under some white pines, just behind an oak horse fence, and I made a couple of brass discs with their names and dates, and I sometimes find myself pausing there, rubbing the discs and missing them- several years after they left us.
