I was wondering if someone could tell me how the hydraulics connect on the backhoe to the 2450? When I was at the dealer a few months ago, I thought that there was a connection on the back of the tractor that a hose was connected to that went to the backhoe valve. Then from the backhoe valve to the loader valve.

After looking at the parts manual I'm not sure that this is how it's connected. If you look at page 126 figure 79, it looks like there is now a quick coupler on the rear of the 2450. This made me think that this is what the backhoe valve connects to. After looking at page 172 figure 114, it looks like the in and out hoses are coming from the loader connections where the loader hoses connect to.

I'm looking at plumbing my 2400 the same way the 2450's backhoe is plumbed for my extra remotes. My dealer is 90 miles round trip so it's not to easy to just stop by to take a look. Any help is greatly appreciated. Pictures are also appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

I took a glance at mine and it is plumbed exactly as sown in your page 126 attachment. I couldn't tell you if the ports exist on a 2400 though.

The backhoe attaches to lines 5 and 7 via bracket 17. Valve 74-1 (line 5 into the top left port) is the front end loader valve while 72-1 seems to be the valve that controls the 3-point lifting. Line 7 is flexible and they show it plumbed into 5 which could be confusing. Line 5 has a bulkhead fitting on it and is fastened to bracket 17. Line 7 passes through bracket 17.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the information. I took some pictures when I was at my dealer a few weeks ago but I can't seem to find where I put them on my computer.

The back ports are not on the 2400 so my thought was just to order the parts for the ports and line, then order a valve and plumb the connections like the backhoe. This seems the easiest way to add the extra remotes.

I'll have to look again at my 2400 as I think that line 5 goes directly to 72-1.

Does the in port on the backhoe valve connect to line 5 at bracket 17 and the out/return port on the backhoe valve connect to line 7?

The way I read the two pages, looking at the diagram on page 127, it looks like the lines attached to the backhoe valve are connected to the lines for the loader due to the (TO 79-16) reference. I think this is what is throwing me off as how the connections are made.

Thanks again for taking the time to look at your 2450 for me.

I looked at a 2400 at the dealer yesterday, yes, line 5 goes directly to 72-1. The backhoe plumbing simply cuts into that line. When the backhoe is not on, the in/out ports are connected together essentially plumbing it (a 2450) the same as a 2400. That's how it's shown on page 126.

Does that make sense?

dpero,

Thanks for the information. Yes that makes sense. I thought that was how it worked but I wasn't sure. Now I just need to round up the funds and and order some parts.

It sure would have been nice to have a grapple this weekend as I had cut some trees down and then was moving them.

Are the mechanical hookup points the same ?
I was told that the mechanical hookup points were missing on the 2400 !

Are you talking about the mechanical connections of mounting the backhoe? I would assume they would be missing since the SC2400 didn't come with the backhoe.

I'm just looking to add rear remotes to the SC2400 which looks like I'll just need to drill some holes to mount the bracket that holds the hoses/couplers. Then figure out where I'm going to mount the valve.

Yes, that is what I was thinking I thought you were going to mount a BH.

The BH is great, good luck on your project.
