I am looking at adding a second remote to me Kubota M4800SU. The one remote installed now is a SCD or Self Cancelling Remote. I have to bungee it in place to use the hydraulic log spliiter. I mostly use this remote to run my grapple.

Kubota also offers a FD or Float Type remote.

I want to use a Hydraulic Top Cylinder on one of the remotes and my grapple on the other.

Which one do I need to add???

You want the one that "spring returns to center", I assume that is what they call the SCD.

Its is the SCD that returns to center.

The reason that I asked is that I read that it was bad for the system to "hold" the valve open in one position for a long time. I know that the hoses and fittings on my tractor get really hot when I am splitting wood with my 3pt splitter. I'll actually take the bungee off and return the remote to center and let the fluid circulate every few minutes while I am going to get more rounds to split.

It sounds like the better option (and cheaper also) is to add a Power Beyond loop for your splitter and stop using the valve and bungee cord. All you need is a coulple of QD's to do it...

Please elaborate. Where would I tap in??? Would I just use 2 short hoses and quick connects or what???

Is you current valve plumbed with hoses or hardlines? Pictures are worth 1000 words...
Also get some of the FEL valve...

In a nutshell, you will put QD's on the PB port of either the remote valve or the FEL valve and plug the splitter inline so it gets constant flow. Most backhoes are plumbed this way also.

Do some searching, this has been covered LOTS of times!
