Someone please tell me how they have used the scoop. The one that has a 3p connection on the front and back.
Has anyone ever use it with extensions attached to a boom pole?

Armyret I built an attachment a few years ago that was a 3 point hitch with a pivot pin in the top and a short boom about 30 inches long and mounted a hydraulic cylinder and attached an old 8N Ford half yard manure bucket to it. It made a nice rear loder but the shell was badly rusted and it didnt survive the whole summer we used it at work. The other day i needed a few loads of dirt in some landscaping and our scraper was off on another job. I came home and got my boom and some tubing. I already had dads 24 inch scoop there so I made me some mounts to make a 3 point on the end of the boom and used it. It works good, not as good as a regular loader but way easier than the shovel method.
With the 3 point turned one way you can drag and load then back over the trailer or planter box and pull the trip to dump it. the way i usually keep it backwards to load out of a pile.

Sounds like you are trying to make a do-it-yourself articulated/scisor backhoe type contraption?

I've used a rear scoop.. but just as it was intended. 3pt mount.. both directions.. eithe to scoop a windrow.. or to dig from a stockpile..

I have a 30", 3 pt scoop. I bought it before I had a loader on my compact utility tractor (CUT).
I used it a whole lot. It works pretty good and really beats using shovel or a wheelbarrow.

I used it the most going forward, I mean the bucket digging into the dirt as I traveled forward with the tractor. One thing I had to do to really make it work correctly was to add "check chains" from the tractor top link down to the lower stabilizer bars. That way the "dig in" was limited. Once I installed those chains, I really got the hang of it.
You will too, after about a dozen loads.

I bought mine to do some ditching and to dig the footers for my garage. A backhoe would have been faster, but much more expensive, and using the FEL would have been overkill. The scoop works fine, it just takes a little practive to get used to it, (just like any new toy... tool).

Re:Taylortractornut. Are there any pictures of your latest creation for the trip bucket? I have one that I was looking at last week trying to figure out this exact plan. Any advise would be helpful and appreciated! Thanks

I may have some pictures next weekend my old computer is about dead and i lost capabilities to download my camrea pics but I got a few shots today moving some sand while the pan is off site. th only thing that hinders me is the scoops frame its hard to load bulky things into it like stick wood. dirt and sand are easy loading and piled gravel is also easy.

Thanks for the quick reply!I presently just use small basic farm machinery but it all helps out. There's no big rush for the photos as I will probably add this to my winter project list. Thanks again for any help you may provide!
