John Deere 790 with loader LS xr3140h also with loader plus a cab
Picked up this old bombardier muskeg skidder blade. Its 84 in. wide, got it for scrap price and it is BUILT. Figured I would cut off old mount/support arms and adapt it to fit directly to the john deere style fel tool carrier on the 790/300 loader. Because Its big, some what heavy it will just be a VERY rigid straight blade with no angling except for dump and roll back which will let me control cut aggressiveness. Will be nice to have a blade on BOTH ends when plowing snow this winter

By controlling the angle of the blade when it is mounted on the loader you should be able to level off an area quickly by cutting a lot of material while back dragging. I never had much luck trying to level ground by pushing a blade with a wheel loader. Something always happens, tires bounce, or the blade digs in etc. Have to go real slow leveling forward with a blade.

Well, the thing has enough weight to itself that it will definitely will work for back blading and leveling. It also has way more cutting edge than the tractor has traction for serious earth moving. It will probably see most of its use in the winter plowing snow, second to spreading gravel. Anxious to see the 84" blade mounted to the loader, just got other "projects" with higher priority right now. Will take pictures and post when construction starts.

Looks like the original owner mounted it with a couple of receiver hitches.

How heavy is that blade?

from the pictures, it looks like a little
too much for the 300 loader.
be careful with your boom there.

keep us posted

:D

The blade is around 800lbs Teetering to the little much side for constant use. After unloading and moven it around, Loader lifts it fine sure makes the tires squat though.... Couldn't pass on it. I did corner another blade that is 7 foot wide, has half of the angle set-up still on it and little less than half the weight of this bohemith, go figger:rolleyes: No pictures yet, will keep posted

That's a serious hunk-o-steel there! If it works out to big for your machine, hold on to it, and save it for the next one you get. Maybe use as justifcation to upgrade. :)
