Does anyone know about the Scorpion tractors, reputation and quality? The company that manufactures the Scorpion is TYM located in South Korea. I was wondering about how well they handle their warranty and parts availability. I do not know of any TYM dealers in my area. Appreciate and information on the Scorpion. I read the engine is the same engine that is used in theKubota.

I am afraid I may have double posted this message under "Other Tractors". I did not see the TYM forum before I posted.

From all that I have read and heard, the Scorpian is a good, reliable machine. Basically it's the same machine as a Century, Branson, or newer TYM. I test drove a Century C29 a few months back and was quite impressed. Very wide, heavy, serious tractor. The HL50 loader that usually accompanies these machines has a reputation for being one of the strongest on the market.

Dealer network is really their downfall. I had to drive over 100 miles to test drive them in Harrisburg, PA. That coupled with the fact that it was a little bigger than I wanted, were the deciding factors for me. So I went with a Kioti.

There are a number of branson dealers around, and they can probably get you parts. I know that Harrisburg is a (the) major distribution point for TYM, and that they seem to be committed to the U.S. market. TYM has been around for several years in Korea and Europe. So, they are probably quite stable. I think that if you have access to a very good deal on a Scorpian, it would be worth serious consideration if Branson is close by for service. If so, talk to them about service and parts.

Thanks for helping out but I need to correct some misinformation. The TYM tractor has no relation to the Century and the Branson Tractor.

American Jawa (Now TYM America) was the distributor of the Century tractor, which is the same tractor as the Branson (except for the loader which most people feel the Century loader is superior). Kukje makes both Century and Branson. You can get parts and service for Century tractors from either Century or Brasnson dealers. Century tractors are no longer being imported but there are still a few bargains to be had on the left over stock.

Scorpion Tractors and some Mahindra tractors are branded tractors built by TYM in Korea. TYM is the OEM line of tractors that TYM builds. But TYM is honoring the original warranty for the Scorpions and parts are available through TYM dealers as well as dealers that still have Scorpions in stock. As for the Mahindra TYM built tractors you will need to go to your Maihindra dealer for warranty parts and service. Hope that helps
