My scotts ride on keeps eating deck belts. I’ve gone through the entire deck and everything thing checks out spindles, idlers and such. First I thought it was because i bought an off brand belt, but since then I have only used Deere belts at twice the prices, but they perform no better. I am wondering if the clutch pully has worn too much. Anyone have any ideas?

belt is a GX20305

short of showing photo's of the belt, we are only guessing. how many hours between belts

i had a issue with a drive belt on my white. it started breaking, checked the pulleys and even added grease into them, ultimately I replaced all the bearing pulley's and the problem is gone, apparently 3600 rpm was making one of them stall. and it was only 30 to replace all of them.

My Scotts 2048 purchased new in 2009 at Lowes for 1767.00 ,sold in 2019 with 387 hrs on it,did the same thing. Bought a deck kit off ebay with all pulleys, spindles, idler pulleys, deck belt , hydrostatic tranny drive belt, new Gator mulcher blades . Do it all at one time ,drop the mower deck, drain engine oil, stand the tractor on its rear wheels, pressure wash everything and make it happen. Did all this in 9/30/2016 $240.00. Money well spent, 230 hrs on tractor when this was done. Sold "Big Orange" for 500.00 December 2019 and bought Toro Zero Turn so wife could help with 3 acre yard. Take care of your tractor and keep a log book on it for resale purposes. Good luck to all on your projects.
