Currently I use a John Deere stx 38 with a hitch I welded together on the back. It's been a great tractor for the past five years. Recently I've been moving heavier boats / trailers (2000 lbs) . It handles 1000-1500 fairly easily. 2000lbs is a struggle to start moving ( not much steering traction)
I picked up a 2554 for next to nothing the other day with a cracked hood. I plan on converting it to electric power steering using a saturn vue power steering assy. They are almost plug and play they are so compact. The reason I'm converting it is my yard gets packed with trailers. I crank the steering wheel while stopped much more than the average user.
My question is which hoods interchange with the 2554? Will a Deere G100 hood including grill and lights mount to the existing pivot mechanism on the frame?
I plan on painting the rest of the frame to match.
