This is bound to get someone drooling... This is in the local Salem Oregon scrap yard...no word on how much they would let it go for... 20140508_120151.jpg

Prob'ly quite a bit, most yards are pretty proud of anything with usable cylinders on it. That's an older Case hoe, early to mid 70's off a 580B or C. Missing the bucket curl cylinder, the rod that's showing (on one of the boom cylinders) looks ok at first glance, at least one of the stabilizer cyl's is still there.

I'm already about 37,823 projects behind, or I might get curious enough to make the 70 mile drive to ask... Steve

Only 37k behind...you are sure efficient ...I know what you mean. I'd wager you could call and ask and they'd shoot you a number. The thing about that place is the number often changes depending on some unknown factors... Also given that you seem to know more exactly what it is you could argue intelligently about why it isn't worth what they want for it.

Looks like a case hoe that was possibly taken off a Unimog. They were set up to do loader work, hoe, had hyd chainsaws, an all around rig, call a
SEE. Military joke to say the least. Small Emplacement Excavator. Having a front loader on a vehicle with a spring front end should never happen.

It's a small corner of that yard, anything usable they want a lot of $$ for, great to buy partial pieces of metal and sometimes other stuff but stuff like that they really like for some reason. They have a pile of chainsaws they want retail near running price for that are just sitting in a pile outside gaining when they get new ones to add to the pile... I think I asked about a McCulloch 10-10 and was told $50 or something...

That backhoe thing is still there almost 5 years after the first post... I eyed it but they probably want as much as a complete but rough backhoe... too much on my backlog of projects but something like that is on the list at some point.

I was behind a flatbed pulled into the scrap yard just the other day, a fully intact tractor.
