Screen shrinks to half size. Why?

When I first open the page to link to the site, my screen shrinks to half size, or less, widthways. I have tried all sorts of things to delete or fix this and have had no luck. In fact, right now I am typing right through the right edge of the now shrunken site and am typing into a plain white screen outside of the formerly normal sized screen.

I have no idea what this is about but it appears to be the result of a popup trying to open. An ad does display but is only a small one and not very prominent.

Any advice appreciated because I am unable to use the site this way. I give up.

I get the same s### and I get so PI&&ed I just go to some other site. I have tried fixing it and can't It's in the pop ups and it never done it with the old site.

Don't get me wrong as I am not trying to be a smart arse but you probably need to give some more detail on hardware/software/operating system and how you you are accessing TBN (via app/browser, etc.). Then maybe someone can chime in and provide tech support. Good luck.

six dogs, did you ever try 'Adblock plus'? It works great for me on my Safari browser. On this site/thread, it blocked 6 ads. Hate to admit it here but it sure cleans up the ads. As far as I am concerned, the postings here are far more effective than ads in getting me to spend my money on tractor/shop related stuff. :laughing:

Ditto on the Adblock or the Adblock plus.

I've just got the Adblock... it's a free download, although they do ask for a donation. I chucked them $20 because it is a very worthwhile programme.

The size of the advertising does take up a substantial amount of room on a screen.

Sounds familiar but I don't remember. If it did, it went away on it's own or blocked by me somehow.

I'm not as savvy as you guys with terminology but I have windows 10, explorer I think as well as a popular Internet protection program that has always proven effective. I have always been reluctant to add other free downloads because I had a problem with a virus related to one once and nothing is free. In order to get a program you give them access to your computer internals and I'm not so sure that's good in my case because of my limited knowledge. Don't get me wrong; I'm computer use savvy and not someone that doesn't want to learn or isn't smart enough, I just have lots on my plate and as long as I can surf the net, that's all I care about.

Now, after all that let me say it stopped doing the half page thing when I signed on this morning. I don't understand it and I do not believe in coincidences so there must be greater forces at play. As long as it stays away I'm good with it and can get back to the important matters of trimming and burning the bottom branches off of maybe 50-75 spruce trees, doing some winter tractor maintenance and enjoying reading and contributing what I can to the TBN. It is important we pass on what we know to others. Oh, I'm working on the meaning of life as well as hugging my dogs. Thank you all and I hope I'm fixed.



Another secondary question is--- and I will get hassled by dragoneggs and Wagtail for this-- I disabled a lot of the "run without permission" add-ons from my tools folder recently in trying to fix the problem. Maybe that stopped things but it didn't it after I disabled them so I don't think so. Should I re-enable these run without permission add-ons??

I'm running Ad Block Plus on my IMac. Sure solved a lot of "expanding/contracting" edge problems.

It was pretty funny that after pages of angst and scientific theory, it turns out that you picked the correct color way back in the second post by using the random "Wagtail Theory" of guessing paint colors.
