I only had a little dirt to screen, so I went about it the other way round.
I picked up a piece of expanded metal at the junkyard, cut it and bent it to fit on top of my bucket. I shovel the dirt in, and rake the clumps off the screen with the shovel. Distinctly low class, but if all you need is a wheelbarrow of screened dirt from time to time, it's easy.
