Screwed up loader arms with grapple

I was a bit apprehensive cutting that torque tube and had put up with problems putting on attachments for a fair bit. I finally did it.....WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I had forgotten how easy it was comparable to the pressure I had to do to get the levers pressed into place.

I will say, that tube had quite a bit of 'spring' to it. I had trouble getting it clamped into position to weld. But once I got it done, levers drop in place so easy. Stuff fits now. For others that encounter this...don't put off the fix. Ain't worth it.

No you are right and I am in agreement. Deere uses a solid rod with shear pins on many of their loaders. If that doesn't explain it right there, not sure what else to say. There are many other designs that have a plate and don't need a timing rod, but when you see separate left/right attachment ears with a rather wispy looking tube or rod, it's just there to keep the two sides in sync when there is no attachment. The attachment itself is intended to provide the structure to handle loads, not the timing rod.

The pins in the solid rod don't shear, the solid rod twist off where the pins are. I forgot to pin the bucket and one side fell off and I broke one that way. Welded it up and broke it again. Got a new one and I think I trashed that from forgetting to pin the forks, I need to pay closer attention.
