Scv multiplier for fel third function

Is there any reason that a scv multiplier should not be used to add a third function to th fel?

Hydraulic Multiplier,SCV Splitter,Diverter Valve: Makes 1 Outlet Into 2, 20GPM!

This was the sort of valve I had in mind? Just curious if this is a viable option. Thanks for the advice.

Do a search here on the forum for the term "diverter", it's discussed weekly...

There are several forum sponsors that sell simpler setups, for quite less especially if you want to turn some wrenches yourself.

The one you linked is most often used on rear remotes, but due to the weight hanging on the couplers it might not be the best setup unless its somehow supported.

A couple of potential problems with those. Even though the male ends are adjustable from 2"-2 1/2" on an eccentric type fitting, they DO NOT fit ALL stock rear remote spacing. Been there done that. So it is possible that you purchase it and can't even plug it in. Double check your spacing before you make your purchase. I'm thinking that it will not work with your Massey.

Second thing, do you really want that big hunk of metal hanging off of your rear remote outlets??? I would think that that alone would be un desirable, it was to me.

Not that hard to do a std type electric diverter and have a much cleaner install.

One other thing, if you are considering a diverter and it is your plan to use it as a 3rd function, why not use the loader valve as the feeding valve and have the control switch on the loader joystick where everything can be actuated with your hand staying in one place?

with out having any experience with them I was wondering if I ran two wiring harnesses, one the the scv and one to the fel stick, could the diverter be swapped back and fourth to add a 3rd function to the loader and a second scv remote as needed?

A so called 3rd function can be inserted anywhere after the loader valve and controls hyd components like cyl and motors, etc..

A diverter can be used to switch hyd circuits. Another valve controls the flow, like loader, remote, etc.

I looked into using a diverter when adding a grapple to my bucket, and was told they would sometimes stick or not reset under pressure. I went with a 3rd function valve instead.

Any valve can malfunction, even your 3rd function solenoid.

Come to think of it, the guy who told me that sold me the 3rd function kit, for a few dollars more.

Kenny, my tractor is ratted at 11 gpm, is your valve 10 gpm max?. Am I really getting 11 gpm that far from the pump?

Yes, ours is rated for 10gpm. Generally when they are used on the FEL (like for a grapple) they never see max flow so it's a non-issue. If used on a rear remote to drive something with constant flow it might be a problem, but something like a TnT setup wouldn't matter either.
