Hi guys,

I finally pulled the trigger on a Kubota 2650. Originally I thought I had my mind made up on a Yanmar 424 but after visiting a Kubota dealer I was won over by customer service. Here痴 a couple of pics I took before I unloaded her and got her dirty!

Ended up with Kubota insurance. It seemed like a no brainer.

Nice! Congratulations, it will give you many hours of service.

Congratulations Mate.

Read the manual... twice. Check the torque on all the wheel lugs. Check the tightness on every connection/nut you can. Re-grease every nipple (zerk) and spray lubricate anything that moves but doesn't have a nipple.

Just in case. ;)

It's a great little tractor. I ordered a piranha tooth bar for mine and really like it. Be sure to hang something heavy on the back when you do loader work. The loader is quite strong. I also got a lightweight set of forks from everything attach and never realized how much stuff I needed to lift!

Congratulations on a great tractor, and yes ballast the rear when using the loader.

Congratulations! It is a beast of a tractor! Even with the 60" light material bucket I can over-fill the bucket and lift with no issues. Do yourself a favor and pay now to have the rears filled with beat juice (Rim Guard) fluid. I love my B2650!

Sounds like Wagtail is speaking from experience..........I'll second that thought.....speaking from experience.

Man, I'm at 49 hours and mines been trouble free after the first 3 hours of use. I had a couple minor leaks at first, but since then I haven't touched it other than to add fuel and work it hard.

That all depends on the dealer and the dealer assembly more that the make/model of the tractor as it comes in the crate.

I've owned two previous Kubotas that came ready to work without ever returning to the dealer for adjustments...one had 350 hrs and the other has 650 hours to date.....just sayin' Any tractor should be studied in the OE manual and checked out to the best of one's abilities as one gets acquainted with it.
Cheers,
Mike

Third (or fourth?) on this. I found stripped studs, one on each front wheel and a handful of nuts on the loader support brackets loose when I went over the machine at 50hrs - re-torqued the loader nuts and had dealer come out and replace the studs under warranty. I can't say for sure where/how they were stripped but dealer has to take off the shipping donuts and put on the proper wheels so should have at least caught and fixed this.

Also make sure to keep the cruise control linkage well lubricated - I never use it but one time I was moving some brush with the FEL and unbeknownst to me the cruise control dropped into place. I nearly hit a tree before I got on the brakes - with HST I rarely use the brake except for parking and occasionally turning so it's not exactly a reflex for me. After my heart rate slowed and I looked it over I found the cruise control linkage was binding just enough to drop the pawl into the ratchet bar and engage - re-lubed and all was well but I tie-wrapped the cruise control pawl up out of the way since I never use it anyway and do not want a repeat.

Don't know if this has been retrofit by Kubota on newer units but I found the operator deck on the left side could flex enough when I stepped on/off the tractor (I'm 225lbs) that it could release the parking brake - had the dealer reinforce with an additional support rod tied back to the frame, also under warranty.

Other than these niggles the machine has been fantastic with plenty of power - grade the driveway, clear snow, bush-hog, chip branches, brush and small trees and all sorts of FEL work. Thinking to add the BH soon.
