Kioti DK 4710 Cab
I have been reading the web (just found this place today) and looking at tractors for about a month.
At a nearby dealer I looked at a new 4110, but dealer had no info on it, said he needed to order some more brochures. After searching the web I found that it was only 20hp and a discontinued model.
Today I decided to load up my JD 650 and 10 month old X475 mower and try to trade at the same dealer. I had a brochure with the 2320 and 2520 models in it. The dealer had no knowledge of the 2320 and though it was a misprint. It may be, I have emailed JD about it, but have not heard back.
Anyway, I was offered 4k for the 650 (mfwd, loader, 900hrs and offbrand 48 rfm) and 5,800 for the mower (64 hrs and I payed 7,600 for last May) and got a price of 17,500 for a 2520 with mmm, and 200cx loader. This was probably a good price for his, but I felt like a bad price for mine, so I walked away.
If I try another dealer 50 miles away and get a better deal, Do I have to go to that dealer for service?
Thanks for any input, JC

Any dealer should service any machine, but you might find that if you buy there they will get to you quicker than if you buy new elsewhere. With used machines it shouldn't matter much to them since you can get them from private parties. I would hope any dealer with a good reputation would tend to keep sales separate from service unless you're talking warranty stuff. Your local dealer might tell you to go to the selling dealer for warranty work, but you shouldn't really have to. It would just be bad PR from JD's standpoint.

JC,

I would try selling the 650 outright. I think you will get a bit more and then can negotiate a "cash" price for the new tractor. BTW, don't disregard that 4110, they are VERy capable tractors!

Yes the 4110 is a nice tractor, I just bought one. It has 21 hp if its a hydro, as mine is. And as far as discontinued, they do that a lot, about every 5 years or so. It doesn't mean the tractor isn't good, they are just trying to make more sales.

"The dealer had no knowledge of the 2320 and though it was a misprint."

The 2320 has been discussed on some other Posts under John Deere on this site. It should be available this May. Will be priced around $12,000.00.

I decided to put the 650 in the local trader and see what happens. For the first time in my life, I am trying to be patient about something, to try and save some money. I may go ahead and list my x475 also. I am making a new post for a question that came up today. Thanks for the replies JC

I would look into a 3120 for that price. $17,5 seems a bit high to me. I bought a used (49 hr) 3320 with 300X loader for $17,500 here in IL in October. Just trying to get you a good deal. Dealer needs to be in the 15s somewhere on that config. Build on on Johndeere.com and look at the price difference he is making. Try for at minimum 10% off list depending on how bad you want to deal with the dealer.

I would also recommend the 4110 or 4115 - Both excellent tractors. I also love the 4310 (similar to my 3320) and the 4410. I will not trade mine now though - I love it!
