Wow, looks good.

I can't seem to get in the spirit of the season for decorations yet.

Me, too, but my wife and daughter had other plans for my grandson and me Saturday, as you can see in the attachment.

Re: Season\'s Greetings!

Wish I had my camera fixed so I could've posted a picture of our tree. We put it up on Saturday.

Artificial - - pre lighted - - up in under 20 minutes - - decorations on in under 20 minutes - - Ain't Christmas grand!?

Re: Season\'s Greetings!

When I was a kid, I house sat for a couple that owned a floral shop... took in the mail, paper, fed the cat, etc... In their basement hanging from a hook was a completely decorated 6' Christmas tree, complete with lights, ornaments and tinsle. Everything was hot glued to it. It had a platic garment bag over it to keep the dust off. All they had to do was take it upstairs, set it in the corner, put the angel over the hook and plug it in.

We always went the traditional method of cutting it down ourselves, jamming it in the VW van with 5 kids and eating sap all the way home. I do the same thing to, ah, err, WITH my kids. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Season\'s Greetings!

It is a family tradition that everyone (in-laws, cousins, etc.) stops by our house in the morning (usually 1st weekend after Thanksgiving) for breakfast. We then drive in caravan style up to our favorite Christmas tree farm. We all pile out of our trucks and jump on the hayride to where the trees are. We all spend 15-30 minutes searching for the trees of our choice. My son is usually the designated tree cutter, so he cuts down everyone's tree. We then flag down the 4-wheeler drivers who take our trees down to the entrance/exit area to be shaken and wrapped. We jump back on the hayride to our newly cut trees, and happily pay the $25 price.

We then buy some hot chocolate and cookies and visit with each other. Then we load our trees and head up the road a bit to a local country store where we each buy some egg nog (in the glass bottles), and return our glass bottles from the year prior.

Then we all say our good-byes and head back to our homes to decorate our trees.

I wouldn't have it any other way! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Season\'s Greetings!

My wife has informed me that when (if) we build a new house, it will have a Christmas Tree closet built in. It will be located wherever she decides the tree will be each year, and the tree will stay completely decorated in it's stand on a roll out kind of dolly. You just open up the closet, roll out the tree, and you're done! She's actually drawn up the plans for it so it can just be added to the design of the house.

Now how many people have you ever heard of that designed a house around a closet!? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
