On my 4310 there are 3 knobs for adjusting the seat, a rotating lever for front to rear, a knob with a flip-out handle for up and down, and a second knob with what appears to be a stylized/side-view image of the seat. Does anyone know what this second knob is for? My manual doesn't show it. JP.

Surprised no one has responded as this was something thats bugged me for the last year - since I've owned the 4610 - manual dosent show that knob. If you can hang through the needless narritive I do have an answer.

Last week Friday I had just filled up the 4610 and sat down and the seat just flopped back. I'm a Mon-Fri slave and let me say friday night is the worst time for me for a breakdown -my first! still... :(

Pulled off the seat cushion(If there is anyone who is giving donations for the deere owners who need a new cushion please PM me:laughing:) Popped off the rubber skirt and found 4 round thingys (rollers) and a U shapped piece of metal.

Time for the wife to get the welder (my oldest) home asap.

The knob controls how far the X frame can move - by about 2 ish inches - since the frame has two large springs that provide --- duh --- spring I call that adjustment the "bounce"

Sorry I just have an air card and connectivity is an issue.

heres some pics - My welder did a great job of putting the bracket/axel back on and I was back in action by dark.

put the bounce knob in the center of travel -adjust the height and the make adjustments to the bounce knob - maximize your smile - one heck of a fine tractor and seat!!!

ET - thanks my son can really weld and I'm proud of it. Took the picks for the welding forum but... Funny thing when he saw me with the camera he grabbed the brush - I posted it because it was the only one with the bounce knob. Anyhow he grabbed the brush, cleaned it up and painted it:)

Wazz - I feel like this site really paid it forward to me. I like to find questions here that I can help with.

Have you ever heard of the principal of resonance ? Basically when things are tuned right they "resonant". I've spent some time with the spring tension vs. bounce factor knobs and when the seat is turned correctly it really feels a lot better on my biscuit-away-from200-lb arse (whoops .... I ate the biscuit)
