Does any place sell a cable or strap to prevent the seat on the RTV from tilting too far foreward? If not, I need to create some rigging for mine. If you notice, on the RTV's when the seat tilts too far, it hits the key before it flops on over. I'm pretty certain that one of these times the key will leave me a nice permanent reminder in the vinyl seat. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I think a small fix could prevent an expensive problem.

good point. You can get a cable and attachment hardware from
www.mcmastercarr.com

Mine actually don't hit the key.. it falls just below the key in the ignition..

Dargo, I see you're off to the store to get the parts to fix this so don't read any further.
I'm a little late in mentioning to you all (because it's a little embarrassing) about my "interim" fix.
First time I gave the RTV a hose-down I realized there's no drain in the compartment under the seat. Out comes the drill with a 1/4" bit and voila, a drain.
I also don't like the way the seat hits the dash/key so all I did was run a bungee cord from that hole I put in the rear of the tray up to the hole in the bottom of the seat (upper hole when the seat is turned up). It took me a couple minutes to find the right size bungee but we all have hundreds so it wasn't hard finding one the right length.
Not a pretty solution but it works fine. The bungee collapses into the tray.
I've been meaning to do something better but since I never go under the seat, I keep forgetting.

My new RTV has a cable (looks like braided stainless leader material ) looped and crimped to prevent the above problem. Factory mod, I guess. I'll try to get a picture.

I jammed my wifes seat under the dash the other day.

I have since been relegated to the tractor only club for a while.

I rigged up a limiting cable to hold my seat today. I'll post a pic tomorrow. I used 3/32 coated cable. It looks pretty decent and works. When I was installing it, I again dropped the seat and neary ripped it on the key. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You should be able to get a cable from your dealer. The cable is a mod from Kubota to solve your problem. Mine was already done when i got it. My dealer told me about the mod.

Thanks Rick. Unfortunately my dealer looked at me like I was from Mars when I'd asked. I spent a bit of time making mine, but it looks professional and the cable is rated at 800 pounds. That outta hold. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

When I bought mine, they had one without it and the new one that they just unloaded had a cable. Guess which one I have? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Glad you got it fixed Dargo. gs
