3-Point Hitch seat cut off switch prevents use of chipper

I just bought a chipper for my BX 25. It works very well except that if engage the PTO power then get off the seat of the tractor, the engine stops. How does one avoid this issue?

Try getting off the tractor, flip the seat forward onto the steering wheel, then start the tractor and engage the PTO.

My BX24 manual says to turn the seat around rearward when using a chipper.

Yes, flip the seat over before engaging the chipper.

It must be something in the water here. I just finished putting together a BX42 on my L3400 and even though I knew about the seat switch I still got off 3 times today & inadvertantly shut it down

If your tractor operates the same as my BX23, you only have to release the seat latch. No need to turn it around.

Before i bypassed it:ashamed:,i stuck a cedar shingle in it ,while running my chipper.
