Seat Repair on JD 870?

My 18-year old JD 870 has been parked indoors most of its life, but the seat has finally begun to show its age. The vinyl cover is still sound, but the u-shaped edging that holds it to the steel body is coming off. I've tried to re-seat it but after an hour or two it pops off again.

Has anyone had any luck re-installing the edging on this type of seat and making it stay?

I used pvc pipe glue on my mower seat , worked great .

Google "upholstery edge trim", you should be able to find a suitable replacement.

I used Gorilla Glue and a 50 bag of sand as a "clamp" while the glue set. Worked good for me...

Sounds like I know how to approach it - Gorilla Glue and/or new edge trim.

I used Seal All for the edge trim. I also had rips in the seat. I cut vinyl patches and glued them on with Seal All. It's held for years.
