Seat Saftey switch

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the seat safety switch, so I can start the tractor while not in the seat. It worked fine until recently. Tractor is a TC 30 New Holland 9 speed, 400 hours. thanks

If you are just trying to bypass the safety switch on a TC30 you just need to unplug the switch from the harness plug & then place a jumper between the two terminals in the harness plug end.

There really is no adjustment to that switch / circuit that I know of... that will allow you to start the tractor while not being in the seat as long as the parking brake is set, tractor is in neutral & PTO is not engaged.

Does the tractor turn over & not start.... or is it not even turning over?

I am not trying to bypass the safety switch, I just want to be able to start the tractor without getting in the seat. I used to be able to start the tractor without being in the seat with it in neutral and the brake locked. Other than that the tractor starts fine.

I would check neutral safety switch and switch on brake system..... Would seem a bit or wear or maladjustment is making it difficult to start.... Good news is seat safety switch works....

Here is the parts diagram from Messick's. The switch is #16. Looks like lever #7 depresses the switch when weight is put on bolt#14. I would look at all the components and make sure everything is still fitting correctly, including spring#10. You could also have a safety module causing issues if it was starting without you in the seat before now.

Like others say, it sounds like the seat switch is still working as it always has. It knows when you’re in the seat or not.
It seems like tractor thinks it’s either not in neutral or brake is locked. Check those switches.
Does faking out the seat switch allow the tractor to start when it’s not in neutral? This is how people run over themselves.
