Kubota 2650
I have a Kubota 2650... when my wife drives it, stall happens immediately upon activating the hydro forward or reverse... yes, i told her to put on some weight.. but, seriously, does anyone have that problem?? Im trying to think of ways to override this without disconnecting anything..i will not disconnect any safety wiring but the tractor should not stall unless there is either no weight or very little weight, maybe less than 50 lbs??

On my Massey there is a little arm that goes down when I sit , so I drilled the plastic arm and old it down with a wire so the tractor think I'm sitting......anytime I can release the arm and the safety is back.

i understand that...this does not have such a thing, they have it well disguised...

Is the seat adjusted properly forward for her? I know that if a shorter person gets on my L and tries to sit down, the seat will try to flip forward and that will definitely mess with the sensors (there are two, one sensing weight and the other sensing seat tilt for PTO operation). So I have to make sure to slide the seat forward for them. The driver needs to have their weight squarely in the seat for everything to be good.

I'm not trying to help you to cut your foot off nor break any law if there is such a thing (probably just a cya on the part of the OEM) on this issue but if you don't have a mowing deck on your lawn tractor as I don't on my JD L110 which I use as my Gator, I don't need nor want a seat safety switch.

On the mower mentioned the first clue that somebody tried to outsmart you is the fact that there are 3 wires to the connection which is a "single pole" function. A single pole function only requires 2 wires.

The second thing is that besides 3 wires to the connector there is a jumper.....5 wires to do a 2 wire job. The gadget is inside the wiring harness connector (have to know it's there and look very closely) and is a thin, flat, sliver of metal that connects between some of the 5 wires. If that piece of metal isn't in the connector, as is now the case with mine, the connector can lie loose (not plugged in) and the seat switch will be disabled.

This is sneaky as the two normal (seems to me) thoughts would be that the switch either opens or closes upon seat weight; as I said, single pole function, either open or closed, 1 or 0 type thing, 2 wire circuit. Fine if it's an open when in the seat, cut one wire to force an "in the seat" condition . If closes when in the seat, take a couple of blade terminals and a jumper wire and jump across the 2 wires to the seat to simulate that with the connector disconnected from the seat connector.

Again, YOUR disconnecting of any of YOUR safety devices is purely YOUR decision!!!!!!! I'm merely telling you that I had the annoyance of a seat safety switch that I didn't need nor want and what I did about it. My switch, my L110, my life, my decision.

this is all good stuff..and i fully get it. I actually did go pokin around looking for switching etc...they have it well hidden and difficult to get at. I decided to leave well enough alone.. im going to think of a way to add weight to the seat..like a real heavy seat cushion instead of messing with the wiring... thanks for all this tho. good reading
