John Deere 750
Spent the week end petting and polishing my acquisition, got some seat time practicing my loader skills and hooked up the brush hog for a few hours. Definitely some learning curve, especially getting used to it on slopes. Certainly felt more stable with 5 foot brush hog attached.

Tractor ran great, adjusting clutch free play did not solve dragging issue. Fear it is clutch plate sticking on output shaft with no access to it to clean and lube. Will try leaving clutch depressed for the week.

By the end of the day noted bucket dropping slowly while brush hogging, had been working tractor hard and noted hydraulic lines pretty warm. After cleaning and parking tractor I noted fluid on the garage floor, left loader lift cylinder leaking. Deere 67 loader, guess I will be resealing actuator, one to advise there.

By the end of a day of being on the little Deere, several hours of mowing steeper parts wit the little Troybilt Pony, trying to roll it and flip it over backwards and playing Mr Toads wild ride weaving in and out of the trees at speed. Finished up and drove to the airport to fly my Cherokee home dodging weather all the way back. I am ready for beer and no mechanical devises for the rest of my Momorial day weekend.

I like my new tractor, will require some more love to get it top notch.

Well as stated it looks like I will be pulling off the bucket lift actuator for reseal. I noted the hydraulic hoses are pretty salty looking and since I will be breaking into the system it may be a good time to replace those. I am pleased to see many tractor parts are fairly reasonably priced. I am in the aircraft industry and an equivalent part would be 10X what the tractor hardware costs.

I note that Tractor Supply has hydraulic hoses one I checked on was a 1/2 inch by 60" for about 20 bucks, what I do not know is if what is on my John Deere/Yanmar is metric or SAE. I know most of the hardware is metric and if the hoses are I may not be able to use the Tractor Supply generic. Has anyone here any knowledge about the hose fitting size, metric or SAE?
