I stopped to look at a TC40 gear tractor today. I'm thinking it is an 03 or older, it has the older style hood (which I actually like better, as far as looks).
My wife's uncle is interested in it and wanted me to check it out. While looking at it, it seemed to have a lot of extras. What I first noticed is the metal bracket on the operator's left fender and it had a factory plastic toolbox. I'd like to have one of these and I found them on Messick's. WOW, I thought the nice John Deere box I bought was expensive! It's a flimsy, plastic toolbox and on Messick's site, they want $62 for it!!! The heavy duty, steel, JD box was only $45. NH's thin little bracket was about the same. JD's heavy metal frame was about $55. Now, grant it, Messick's didn't list it as a complete kit (they were closed when I called) so it may be much cheaper that way. I like to buy at least the bracket and adapt my JD box to it. However, this JD box is heavier, and a bit bigger (hold more tools). I know the fender is very rigid but do you think it will hold this weight?
Next, and I can't find it on Messick's website, is the toolbox that comes on a hydro model. The one down by your left leg, has a cup holder and the top opens to access the inside. I'm assuming I can make this fit my 04 gear drive. My fender has the molded recess in it. Wonder how much this is.....like I said, I can't find it.
Then, the seat had nice little arms on it. The only thing I could find on Messick's was some, I assume bolt on to your existing seat? I'd like to have these too.
Last, and not as important, was on the driver's right side was a metal brack for cup holder. I really don't care too much about the cups but it would make a great place to mount things; another tool box, switches, flashlights, yadda, yadda. However, that crazy little thing was $62 too! I may just fabricate this one. It wasn't overly complicated. Heck I may just fabricate the toolbox side too. Then I can make it the way I want it. I'm just concerned about the fenders holding the weight.
Do you guys have some of this stuff? Do you like it? What model and year tractor do you have?
thanks!
