An all too real reminder of how fragile life really is. Glad you had the urge to buckle up, and glad to hear you're safe and sound!

SO, how many changes of clothes do you carry in that loader

I can appreciate your experience ... I have seen many SSL operators make similar "rookie" mistakes on jobs. I'm not sure if they ever went totally vertical, but several have needed help to get the machine back on the tracks.

No change of clothes needed pucker factor was way too high

When you get distracted or in a rush like I was you forget the little things like while that dirt pile was only two feet high off the hillside it was five feet high off the other side. Oops. :)7

+1 to the OP for wearing his seatbelt. I hope it becomes a habit for you. I hope it becomes a habit for me.

having come from non seat belted roots (8n), I had to force myself to put it on in the new tractor ... now its second nature

as for the other discussion ... something tells me theology is slightly off topic for a TRACTOR forum.

Hmmm.......

Closed, Pruned, and Reopened. First time I've heard of that one. Usually they just get closed.

Thank You Moss for the extra work to allow the thread to stay open.

I'm glad you are ok, I have thought about wearing my seatbelt many times and have even had a few close calls myself. My only issue is I am in a cab that is 98% glass and the seatbelt is only a lapbelt, if I tip what is stopping my upper half from going through the glass on the side cause there is no shoulder belt to keep me straight? With the winter months comming and the use of my FEL increasing I will deffinately take this story (and others) and buckle up.
