Junkman,

Apparently there are problems with BX fuel gages...

My dealer wasn't aware of them...people here responded to the same question when I posted it a couple months ago...this seems common on some bx tractors. Mine does the same thing.

My dealer said he will pick up the tractor and fix the problem. I told him to wait...wasn't a big deal to me as I use the BX to take some fuel out of my 5 gallon containers before filling my other tractor.

In any case...it should be fixed, in my opinion. Why bother having the gage there if it provides only meaningless information?

I like the machine already after only using it for cutting grass today. Am a little disappointed that the factory still hasn't fixed the fuel gauge problem and is still sending them out with problems. It is a trip to take it back to the dealer for the repair.... Probably will learn to live with it.....
Rubber flip over pads are to save the driveway..... Damaged the driveway with the last tractor and never heard the end of it.... now, no more damage.

Nice looking machine. Your going to love it. I moved a couple of large rocks this spring with my BX. They were to large and I had no business moving them but I thought I would try. Got the bucket under the edge and chained the rock to the bucket. I was able to lift the rock a couple inches off the ground (didn't dare raise it any further) and traveled very slowly about 25 feet to a new spot. That little machine is a worker. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Today I started my first project... to connect my underground heating oil tank to a fuel pump in the garage. When I installed the tank 20 years ago, I made a provision for pumping fuel from the tank in the event that I ever got a diesel tractor. When I added the garage 3 years ago, I installed pipe in the floor and out the foundation to hook up to the tank.... Today, I trenched between the two points and started to run the piping. In the morning it is back to the supply house for more fittings and pipe. If the weather hold out and it doesn't rain, then I will have it finished by tomorrow afternoon and pumping fuel by the evening. Junkman

( Junkman- It looks like you got the rubber feet for the stabilizers? You will be amazed on how the little tractor works!!!! )

I did spring for the flip over pads because I plan on doing some work on the edge of the paved driveway. I did make the mistake of allowing them to contact the grass the first time and it took me about 15 minutes to get all the dirt and grass from between the individual pads that make up the total pad assembly. Since then I have been more careful, however they still have a habit of the padded side falling to the ground when you lower the outriggers. I intend to see if there is a way that I can better secure them so this doesn't happen. It is a nuisance to get off the tractor to flip them or to bring the outrigger back up to the top to do it while in the seat.
