Second VW Jetta TDI

We just bought our second Jetta TDI. It's the wifes car and she loves it so far. We have had it for about a month now and have 2500 miles on it. Currently getting about 41 mpg with an auto trans. Here is a picture of our new 06 Jetta.

Here is our 01 Jetta. Its our work horse commuter car. It has 140k miles and still getting 50 mpg.

Gotta say I like the old body style better. They had more character and were unique. Now they look like a Honda and blend in more.

Still, the diesel is why I like them.

We still have two , also. I have "retired" the '86 reciently with 315K miles, because the suspension needs some work to tighten some sloppyness. The '01 is up to 85K now and still gong strong.

Highbeam, I have to agree. But the larger size of the new style is a plus. What I like the most about the new one is the 6 speed tiptronic transmision (hope I spelled that right).

Av8r3400, have you removed the vent plug form you 01's fuel tank yet? At 100k miles I decided it was time. With the added 2 gallons of fuel I almost forget that the car still needs fuel to make it go. Last week at 678 miles on the tank it took $32 to fill it up.

I have an 85 Golf diesel that I drive everyday. I do want to get a Jetta TDI, probably 2002 to 2004 with a manual transmission only.

For what its worth, I like the new body style a little better. If the new looks like a Honda, the old looks like a Corrola.

Theres always somebody out to change something---I'd get different rims, other than that I'd shut up...
maybe the "tuner" style is more me...
or possibly some Porsche rims?
