WOULD LIKE SOME INFO ON THE FECON DCR HEAD
From what I have been told all the different teeth types weigh the same (correct me if wrong ) but a mongrel job to change as you can't use a rattle gun. I run the older version on my mulcher. One other thing, after using a Loftness head I realized what a pain in the butt a HDT style rotor is to balance. Would I buy Fecon mulcher with HDT rotor? Yes cause they chew timber like they're starving.I'd like to know the benefits of the HDT rotor versus drum-style.
If you can get one to demo check that it comes with the door. Some have said that's an optional extra in the States, they're standard over here. It will be great to have an end user make a true comparison between the 2 heads. Good luck. :thumbsup:that push bar is like the stock one on my FAE. It's too big for what I do. We don't have pine trees or tall trees to deal with.. just bushy, messy cedars and for the most part they aren't very hard. What I have that's tough is occasionally oak tops and a lot of rocks. The FAE holds up great tool-wise and body wise. I've seen a lot of beat up Fecon heads but the used FAE heads still look good. I don't care about scratches but I care about bearings and drum strength.
I'm hoping Fecon will help me try out a head soon. I don't have a dealer nearby and my Bobcat dealer doesn't demo cutting heads. They will service them but they don't keep any in stock which is frustrating when I need to demo.
