Seeking comments on NH TC35D/TC33D; supersteer, et

I have posted this in the NH forum, but felt general forum may generate additional comments.

I am still in the process of trying to get a tractor. This forum has been a valuable source of information, and I am requesting comments to help steer me towards "tractor bliss". I had narrowed my choices to the above tractors or the Kubota L3430. The Kubota is having availability issues in my area, so I am going w/ the NH.

I am trying to decide between the above tractors, and have driven both. I am planning on the HST and 4308 or 16LA loader. I like the 35's pedals for the HST (along w/ the brake pedals on the opposite side). I am up in the air about the supersteer option.

Any negatives or positives regarding these tractors is appreciated. For example, does anyone w/ a class II wish they had gotten a class III? Is the supersteer option really useful? If you have one of these models and regretted anything, what would it be?

Are there any options I should get put on the tractor, ie extra hydraulic valve, toothbar for the loader, etc?

I like the TC33D, but am concerned about the FEL capacity, 3pt hitch lift capacity, and seemingly light weight. I do not plan on utilizing a MMM, but will use the tractor for moderate clearing, moving dirt, maintaining my drive, rough cutting a couple of acres, and mowing a couple of acres w/ a RFM.

There's a lot to be said for for getting as much tractor as you can, of course. Fo my needs, I wouldn't trade the 33 for the 35, but I do use it for finish mowing and the medium-size fits just right. As far as the hitch lift, it works fine with box blade and bush hog, but then again I don't know what I'm missing. I've never had the FEL refuse to pick up a load, including a full bucket of dirt, clay, water, or gravel, and with filled R43s have never had significant instability either. Rear remotes are a good idea if you're going to use your log splitter on the tractor or plan on a hydraulic top link, and if I were doing it again I'd get four instead of two. I desperately covet a toothbar. For the uses you describe supersteer doesn't seem like it would be hugely helpful--the tractors have terrific turning radii without it. As to your question about regrets--none, except the time that I drove the tractor into the old barn with the short door with the ROPS in position /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif--but wait, that helped convince the CFO we needed a new barn!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I went w/ the 35D to get the 84" MMM and w/ SS it's a great mowing unit.
W/o the MMM the SS isn't as much of a benefit.
Go w/ the 35D for loader use, the main reason is it has the lift capacity of mid size SSL and the Q-T will let u utilize the MANY SSL attachments.
For a couple hundred $$ more u can get a tooth bucket instead of only a tooth bar.
U can get lots of SSL buckets and forks cheaper than NH CUT prices and many used around too.
The 35D also has 2 speed cruise control so lots of time I never have to use the pedals.
If I hadn't got the MMM I would have gotten a Woods 990 finish mower and it needs the larger frame tractors.
IMHO u can't go wrong w/ the 35D.
Some say they don't use the individual brakes but in the woods last winter cutting wood w/8-12" snow and 2" of frost in soil I couldn't have gotten around w/o them but I was pulling a trailer w/ over a cord of wood on it too.
I have a single remote on back and use it for my $6.00 hydraulic toplink.
After I got a good deal than I talked dealer into the 1 remote, block heater and the armrests thrown in too.

Sometimes I think that a smaller size would have been better, but then I climb into the seat of the 35D and instanly remember / realize that I made the right choice.
I Don't have super steer for I don't EVER expect to be operating in the tight quartes where it would be benaficial..
If I ever buy a finish mower it will be a 3PT mount with rear discharge. Considering the above reason, I also did not get the mid PTO option.
I DO, HIGHLY reccomend the Quick - Tach system. It opens up a whole new world of front attachments. Stick with the 16LA loader, you won't be sorry.
At least 1 set of rear remotes is an option WELL Worth getting.
I think loaded rear tires are pretty much a must.
A canopy is a darn nice option, for resonable $$. I spent better then an hour yesterday in a mild drizzel, grooming my driveway with the rake, and stayed nice and dry. There is a company in Canada that makes a beautiful full glass cab for reasonable $$. Maybe in a few years once I pay my loan down, I'll get one. For now the $400 canopy works awesome.
A canopy also opens up the easability of installing auxiliary lights and mirrors.
I presently don't have the need of a toothbar and therefore of course don't have one, So I am of no help there.

Spencer200 recently made some comments about the TC33 being significantly upgraded the end of the year. I personally would check out a TC40, especially since you're getting a hydro. There's more 3-PT capacity, loader capacity and a smoother 4 cyl engine. From my experience, it's considered the best "bang for the buck" in the Boomer line. JMHO
