I just bought 5 gal. of SEF94 with no ethanol for around $60. Why? I'm sick of taking my 4 Stihl chain saws, 1 brush cutter, 1 backpack blower, 1 logsplitter, 1 compressor and 1 BCS mower in for de-gunking of the carburettors etc. to the tune of around $500 this year alone. Seems I can't remember to keep fuel tanks drained in winter or drain carbs before lapses in usage. I cant believe how fast ethanol fuel causes build-up and obstruction of my fuel systems. This stuff you can let it sit all winter, all season and it's supposed to remain stable. I'll go to the garage tomorrow and drain all tanks, mix up additive and SEF for some and straight SEF for the rest. Anyone tried this yet?

Have not tried it but as a pilot I have used 100LL (Low Lead) aviation fuel for years. You can get it at any airport for about $5 or less per gallon. Some may not want to sell it to you but you will have good luck at your small local airports. Its died BLUE and has no ethanol. Its 100 octane and very stable.

I have seen many boaters, racers, dirt bikers, go carters, ect buy and use it with great success.

One other thing. With any fuel you are going to store get some Sta-Bil Ethanol Marine treatment. Not the RED crap. Its a newer formula and comes in a 10oz container and will treat up to 100 gallons. The stuff has been the best thing to come to the Marine industry in the last 3 years. Its a little pricey at nearly $10 but goes a long way and does what it says.

I can find 100% real gas in the premium at at least 3 gass stations off the top of my head in a 25 mile radius of here, i pass all regurally while working. They have the 91octane rating and are around $2.89-99/ gallon. I have no idea where you bought yours but i think all that is is premium (100% gas) with an octane booster to get it to 94, and they are charging a premium so folks who donk know think that is the only 100% gas they can buy. **** i can buy racing fuel 104 octane (pure petrolium) at a station down the road (same as one with pure premiun) for $6.99/gallon thats still almost half of what your paying??

Where are you located California?

Do not call the airport itself. You need to find out who does the fuel service there. Its called a FBO, or fixed based operator. Its like a gas station for airplanes. They handle all the fuel sales, hanger rental, car reservations, hotels, de-icing, ect.

Can not due it here in Indiana. All fuel for a year now must have 10% ethanol at a minimum and all diesel must have 5% bio or more. Guess its the way to take care of the good old Indiana corn farmer.

There is a exception to that. Off road fuels are exempt. Airports, marinas, and Co-ops are the only option to get non ethanol fuels.

Which brings up another good point. The local marina carries 91 octane REAL GAS, no ethanol. It runs about $3.25 per gallon.

i used to go to the airport for aviation fuel back in the 90's when i was running snowmobiles on grass. with that high octane and only running a 500 foot track you could really drop a bunch of jet sizes safely. course i remember it being $2.00 a gallon, but regular was only about $1.25 back then i think.

I tried av-fuel when I raced off-road 25 years ago and I was told it contained methanol(to deal with carburator icing at altitude). At any rate, I couldn't get the stuff to run in my engine, no matter how I jetted the carb. It would run fine to about 6500/7000 and then just break up. Went back to "Cam II" racing fuel and had no further issues. I believe NASCAR has gone to an ethanol blend so we're probably all doomed to the corn juice.
