I might be putting my B7800 up for sale. Just over 3 years old (paid off :)). Has loader, backhoe, chains, rear blade, canopy and forks that can be switched for the bucket (not quick release, takes about 15 minutes). Is just ready to turn 500 hours. Has one dent in hood.

My thought was $15,000 but looking on various sites it appears asking prices are all over the place.

Any input appreciated.

Can you drive it to NE PA? Need more power than my 7510. Why are you getting rid of yours?

$15K sounds fair, remember you are fighting against 0% dealer financing + warranty for well qualified buyers, that is tough competition. If you don't get any interest you can come down in $500 increments until the level of interest picks up.

Good Luck,
Dave

A local New Holland dealer took a B7800 in trade late this summer. It had 225 hours on it, very minor blemishes in paint, HST, FEL, but no backhoe. They were asking $15,000 for that one and it sold within a month, so I would think that yours will sell easily with the attachments you are offering with it. I'm with rbcsaver....why are you considering selling it? Dyer, retired

Why am I selling?

Well first off I've been very happy with the B7800. It's done well when used within it's capabilities. Obviously I've put a fair number of hours on it. I also own an L39 so I wouldn't be without tractor ;). That said the L39 is at our woodlot property 20 miles from home.

The main reason to consider selling is that I might have the opportunity to get a mini excavator for about what I can sell the B7800 for. I definitely can't afford to have three diesel drinkers around. My wife would strongly discourage that situation.

That makes sense and glad to hear you won't be without a tractor.:) Wives are funny about too many tools around the house, ha! My wife tells me that I can get a welder if I can go for 6 months without accidentally hurting myself...it's been two years. Again, I don't think you'll have a hard time selling the B7800. Our dealer offered us a little over 15K for our B7800 with 30 hours, so I don't know if that helps you or not. Maybe I'm just getting the short end of the stick.

Okay, our dealer offered us $12,176.00 for our 2007 B7800 (30 hrs) with the loader. So, if you can get $15,000 for yours, go for it! I think we are getting a bad deal and should probably shop around some more. Are you offering any implements with you B7800 to sweeten the deal?

Maybe I am wrong about what the dealer is offering us, but if we accept that is a 40% depreciation for 30 hours, that seems excessive.

Aaron,

The dealer offered me $11,000 for my B7800 about 6 months ago when I was looking at trading it in. Had about 400 hours at that point. You need to remember that also included backhoe (worth quite a bit, maybe $4000 or $5000) and chains which I paid around $400 for.

My thought is that the dealer would be marking up that trade a fair amount because he would like to make some money off it. Can't say I blame him.

Thinking dealer markup on what he offered and what I see the tractor listed for online I came up with the $15,000 number if I sell it myself.
