Selling my B7800; what to ask for it

You might get more for the backhoe alone than thrown in as a package. I've seen some good prices fetched on ebay for those.

I sold my B3030 HSDC to a member here this past april (300 hrs cherry condition) as i needed to jump up to a 3540. The trade in offer was thousands less at the dealer than the private sale. I would think you would get 15 for that unit in a new york minute.

Barlow equipment has my old b7800 for sale with less hours and no pallet forks for 16500. I tried to sell it before trading it in and didn't get any hits for that price. 15000 sounds reasonable but you have to find an interested party...

Remember that dealers (car, tractors, or whatever) will always offer you less because they want to make a $ on the resale. You are always better off to try and sell privately first.
Try an ad in your local paper or shopper type paper. Set a price more than the dealer is offering you, but a little less than the dealer would resell it for. Careful of checks, even "certified checks." Too much fraud out there.
regards,
Steve

I think $15K is fair given the implements, chains and canopy. The hours may dictate the final price and bring it down to $14.5K or so.

I'd suggest you list it on your local craiglist(s). I check the northern Michigan ones daily.

In March, I paid (private sale) $13000 for a B7800 with loader, rear blade, PHD, landscape rake, toothbar and 60 MMM. It too had (still has) a dent in the hood and had 430 hours on the clock.

With the backhoe, based upon what I paid and the research I did at the time, I would think that $15 K would be a very quick sale and $16-$16.5 would be the range for a relatively easy sale.

Thanks for all the feedback. Really appreciate it.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the dealer who has the used excavator as to what he wants for some repairs and other issues. Hopefully tomorrow so I can decide what is the best course.

Feedback seems to be $15,000 isn't a bad price to ask.
