I have bought an Excavator and no longer need the Backhoe. I have an M59, I'm going to keep the tractor and am selling JUST the backhoe. BH1200, 12Ft. Hydraulic thumb, approx. 300hrs. asking $12,000. Located in Maine.

Just my opinion, but I'd just hang on to it if all possible keeping it together greatly increases the value of your tractor if and when you decide to sell it.

The hoe really isnt much good or popular for anybody without the tractor.

Thanks, I'm just throwing it out there. If is sells ok, if not Ok also. Don't really need to sell it, I do see some M59's without hoe's for sale now and then.

Just my 2 cents. You will regret it. an M59 without its hoe is like a Swiss Army Knife without a main blade. OK, you now have a machete, but a knife is still very handy. I use my L39 and Max28 now more than my excavator.

So without a 1 ton BH on the rear, how you going to keep the back end on the ground when working the bucket? A M59 will lift 2 tons at ground level if pressures set correct.
Also when you get the M59 stuck, are you going to get the Excavator and tear up the ground more or just lift yourself out with the BH? In 11 years and countless times getting stuck only twice has the Ex had to yank out my L39.

Post some pics of the TB175 at work! That is an excellent machine choice, very strong for its 9 tons, hope you have a hydraulic thumb.

Look at my equipment list. It serves me well.

I agree with Mike. First, you may be in for a real chicken chase trying to sell that beautiful backhoe that only fits on an M59. Since very few bareback M59's ever got sold, there just aren't many potential buyers, and you'll have to catch the eye of the very, very few that are itching to spend 12 large for the backhoe they opted not to purchase in the first place. Good luck with that. Then someday you'll eventually want to sell the M59, and you'll get hosed again because it doesn't have the backhoe anymore.

You'd be better off selling off the complete M59 and replacing it with another chore tractor that wasn't designed from the ground up to operate as a TLB. But, it's your rig, so do with it as you see fit.

I agree, you are better off keeping it together. IF you need a ~50-60HP tractor loader, sell the M59 together, and look for a used machine with similar hours, year, condition, etc and you will probably come out money ahead.

Since the M59 by definition is a TLB, one without a backhoe would be like "a day without sunshine". To paraphrase Anita Bryant.

Are you still selling this unit?

Would you be willing to sell whole M59?
