serial number 240 jd lawn tractor gear box

:bat:Hello im new to the forum i need to know the location of the gear box serial # it is a 7 speed.

I found the number the dealer said the first design is no longer avail. There is a second design still avail. Does anyone know if it will work? All is the same but the case. (this is the pully on the gear box).

Look up the detailed parts list for your tractor on the JD parts lookup web site. If you can find a good tranny mechanic, you might be able to locate the parts for it?
