Serial Number for MF 231S

Can someone tell how the numbers on this model might appear? They were produced from 1999-2004. TractorData.com provides no serial numbers for them.

Thanks Kid. I appreciate your help. However; I am looking at a 231S which was built from 99-04. The 231S was supposedly a beefed up answer/alternative to the 231. The problem is that TractorData does not give serial numbers for the 231S. Could it be because the tractor was produced in Turkey?

I realize you where referring to a 231S. They may however have the same part your looking for. Did you get the part number off of agcopartsbook.com and check with your local AGCO DEALER to see if they are the same or not? If you don't have a local dealer, then use email. Better than beating your head against the wall. You where looking for a starter right? Many parts on US tractors come from Turkey.

Thanks. I think it was someone else who was looking for the starter. I am actually interested in buying a 231s but as mentioned the serial number does not seem to work in the series suggested by MF. All others I have seen included a letter that preceded the number but this one does not. I did see one 2004. 231s on tractor house that does not include the letter in the serial number. I just want to be sure everything matches up and I know exactly what I am buying. Thanks again

My bad. 231 's are not discussed often here. Have you contacted Agco or a agco dealer?
