I have a serious hydraulic leak coming from on top on the transmission somewhere. Has anyone had this problem. I think I still have some warranty will find out today. It is just underneath the seat area on top of the tranny from what I can barely see.

Any ideas??

Not sure what model you have (I'm assuming it's an HST). I have a TYM T-273 that has an hydraulic overfill hose that lies just beneath the seat. Did you recently changed your tranny oil by chance? During my last fluid change I accidently overfilled the transmission, and found that when hot a fair amount of fluid was slowly leaking out of this hose onto the transmission housing. Seems to have slowed with time.

Good luck!

Mine is a R2844 I believe. Good thing it was on Warranty my dealer sent out a service truck to fixer up. I was going to tackle it myself but thought it was better to have the mechanic do the work, don't want to screw up my warranty.

Because of it being under the seat I envisioned having to take off the entire top end above the tranny. Seat, fenders, fuel tank the whole nine yards. Well to my surprise it was 4 bolts for the seat and a rather large hole inspection hole was under the seat. Leak was quickly found and repaired.

Leak came from a worn O-ring on the adjuster shaft that controls the speed of the down shift mode on the 3 pt hitch. Pulled a pin to reveal the shaft coming out from the top of the tranny area. Loosened a lock nut then the nut holding the shaft in place. Took out the shaft that measures roughly 3/8 in diameter by about 4 inches long. There were O-rings mechanic replaced the rings installed it, and tested, no more leak. Very nice young fellow to talk with and informative as well.

I am very impressed with my dealer and the quick time from initial call to having my tractor fixed. I live almost 3 hours drive from my dealer like I say I am impressed both with the tractor and my dealer.

alltoys,

And well you should be impressed with the dealer service you're getting. Sounds like a dealer with his act together. Glad you got it fixed and under warranty too.
