Anyone know if Kubota, or any tractor manufacturer, issues service bulletins, like automotive manufacturers do? I've fund them online for me vehicles, and check periodically. What got me thinking about that was kubmech's very helpful postings over on a couple threads in this forum, regarding specific problem areas for Kubotas. Everyone with an L model should go them check out at l3300gst information.

Yes, they issue service bulletins as I have phoned them and they solved a problem on my BX2200. They informed my dealer of the problem and the service bulletin. However, getting a listing of the service bulletins is another problem. I know for a fact that the dealer has access to them either by hard copy or electronically.

Just wanted to do the minimalist thing with post #150.

Thanks, K8 (younger brother to K9?), It would be nice if the tractor mfrs would have a web site with TSB's. Maybe there's a secure one, like other professions use. Be nice if Mr. Carver, or some other gentleman out there, would see fit to share this info. In the meantime, maybe it's best for us to individually inquire.

There is a reason service bulletins are not readily/easily available to the general public. If they were, every dealership would be overwhelmed by the public demanding this or that be fixed/looked at regardless if it is a problem or not. There are hundreds of service bulletins released for every vehicle. The main purpose of the bulletins is to alert the dealerships of a potential problem and the fix should a customer come in complaining about a certain problem. The only bulletins that are intentially made available to the public are ones that involve potential safety hazards - and you usually get a notice in the mail for these.
Unfortunately for those of us with a little common sense and mechanical aptitude to be able to determine if a service bulletin is applicable to us, this unavailability of service bulletins stinks. However, given that most of the general public can't even find the oil dipstick let alone know what a dipstick is, I can understand the manufacturer's position.

Yeah, that makes sense. I just keep forgetting about the "general public". Guess I don't consider myself to "be one". Maybe the dealer I'm bugging with questions thinks differently?
