Just got a used 2740 with FEL, can somebody tell me recommended service intervals...oil filter , fuel filter and such. Thanks Michael

I have the 3040, the bigger brother to yours. It recomends oil and filter every 100 hrs, fuel every 400, hydraulic filter only at 200 and every oil at 400. I personally change the oil and filter every 50, the fuel filter at 100 and follow recomendations for everything else. I find that while brush hogging I need to change my air filter every 50. There are few 2740 and their farmtrac equals on this board, hopefully they will chime in.

I have the 3440hst and comming on my first 50 hr change.I got a owner manual with it but not a service manual. I emailed tractorbarry and he sent a service manual. I beleive he has all service manuals if you email and ask he may send you one also?

Hey, another 2740 owner. Yep, the service intervals you were given above are correct. Mine is almost 3 years old now, with only 201 hours on it, so I change oil and filter at around 50 hours or so, which is at least once a year. I lube the steering knuckles and loader every 10 hours or so, since lots of my use is in the rain and wet areas. It's been a great little machine so far, with absolutely no problems or issues. We have an excellent dealer here also. I found that all the filters I need are in stock or available overnight from the local NAPA store. Here's a couple of pics of the upper limits of its capability.....Dan.

Loaded rear tires? No, I thought about it, but quite often carry a lot of weight on the 3 pt., so usually hang something heavy on the back when I use the loader. Seems like the 2740 is pretty well balanced front to rear unless you get carried away with the loader...Dan.
