I recently purchased a 10' rottary cutter. There are two bars that connect from the back wheel assembly that come forward to the front pull bar. This is a pull type cutter. The two bars have a flat end on them when they get to the pull bar and have three holes in them. One on top, and two below at the same height, one in front of the other. If the cutter is unattached laying on the ground, you can lift the tow bar and adjust what hole you want to put the pin through. I guess it effects how high the tow bar is, which in turn effects how high the front of the mower is. And remember, there is a swivel at the very end of the tow bar where you put the hitch pin that connects everything up to the tractor. At any rate, when I am pulling the mower, is the whole mower supposed to be level, or should the rear end be higher than the front? Depending upon which hole I put the bars in, it effects the front height of the mower. The hydralics change the height of the rear wheels, but when I put the pin in the whole that is in the lowest setting, I can't get the front end of the mower as high in the air as the front. It seems to really make a difference in cutting the very high grass.
Any suggestions? How is it supposed to be set up?
