Over the years I have always enjoyed pushing snow with a blade . Although I have always had a garden tractor with a blower too I had more fun with the blades. Here are some of my handbuilt blades. Two of them were a barrell cut in half and a little crude but just as fun . I even made a blade for the front of my 4x4 VW Beetle Project . aaablade1.jpgaaablade3.jpgaaablade4.jpgaaablade5.jpgaaablade6.jpgaaablade7.jpgaaablade8.jpgaaablade9.jpgaaablade10.jpgaaablade11.jpgaaablade12.jpg

Thanks ,
I am thinking a lot about a garden tractor with tracks and that could be my next project. I have always loved those and have saved dozens of other peoples cool projects with tracks.

Nice blades, how about some construction details? :)

Seriously, I've been thinking about converting an old 3pt scraper blade for snow use on the skid steer. If you have the ability to pivot yours, what did you suggest for the pivot? Do you always use the trip springs?

Thanks,

Ken

I would love to see more detail about the plow on the 5400. It looks like you can flip the end gates around to face forward. I would love something like this for my power trac.

I never took progress pictures of blade projects. I always waited until they were finished. Yes the wings did flip forward or backwards to push large amounts of snow or to pull large amounts of snow. I used it for 13 years commercially and it worked excellent. No flip or spring mechanism on most of my blades. Before the ground froze solid I backbladed everything off the pavement. I bought my first Lincoln 225 Welder in the Army. I rented a garage in Leominster, Mass. and built a couple vw dunebuggies . I still have that welder and it cost $75.00 . It has built 90% of my projects over the years.

Do you have any more pics of it? How did the wings hold up?

4x4 wv bug... that's cool! Buddy of mine built one on a IHC Scout frame... big block chevy moter, in the rear where it belongs... 39.5 rear, 35" front, swamper boggers tires, shot of NOS and he cleans up at the local mud bogs.

No snow plow though...

Nice projects... thanks for the pics.
