There has been a lot of flooding in southeast Texas, and tornadoes in central and north Texas, and up in Oklahoma. Unfortunately, that is reality of living in the central Plains in the spring. We still have a month or so left of our worst months for severe weather.
Other than the loss of life down south, the worst here was the hail storm the week before last in suburban Dallas. Effectively everyone living in the suburb of Wylie was affected - almost every home, business, and any cars outside were damaged by baseball+ size hail. Roofs were completely destroyed - not just the shingles, but holes through the decking! I read a report last week that there was not a single car available for rent in the Dallas/Fort Worth area because of the demand from people who had cars made undriveable by the hail damage.
We'll keep our fingers crossed that the worst for the year is behind us.
