Tractor
NewHolland TZ25
Ok I got it, its a 25 HP New Holland sub compact tractor. Used it for the weekend what a fun unit. Tilled with a rear mounted roto tiller, cut with my 60 inch belly mower, used it to move large rocks with the FEL. I even used it last night and got a funny look from the wife, ok she thought I was insane, I used to to move a 18L water bottle from the car to the house.

Had one scary moment though. I was using the belly mower to cut my ditch and had the mower set on the highest setting with the wheel set on the lowest setting to prevent it from bottoming out. All of a sudden the Tractor made this terrible loud noise and the motor started to slow down. I had thought I blew the engine on it, I was racing trying to stop the PTO or turn off the tractor and because I was so new did not instantly know where the controls were. I am not sure if the tractor stalled or I finally got it stopped.

At that time I did not know what it was, the loud sound. All's I could thing about was a broken crank arm or something. I was kinda freaked out. So later on the wife wanted me to go back and cut where it was un-level and I tried to explain what happened, it did it again so I stopped. She said it was a tractor and was just bottoming out, I explained even if you abuse a tank enough they will blow up. Short of leveling out the ditch (which I don't have equipment to do with yet) what can I do to prevent which I assume is my belly mower bottoming out. It makes a heck of a racket when it does.

Just don't mow there.

Cut that area with a hand mower or a weed whip. Or better yet, have the wife cut it.

Agree hand whip or walk behind bush hog, than re shape ditch line for smooth mowing.

The belly mower had a plugged side discharge and the suction just pulled it into the ground untill it could no longer cut and it staaled in the tall grass.

the mowers air baffles are simply doing the job and the last blade and baffle are plugged and cannot discharge hence the dead tractor.

Screaming belt coming to stop when overloaded with resistance from the turf and high grass.

the air baffles are simply pulling the deck into the ground due to the suction and wet ground.

leave the mowers rear gauge wheels at maximum height and drive slower.
taking a smaller cut

its very easy to stall and stop a belly mower and tractor dead with no hesitation in wet turf as the tractor is sinking in the wet turf and the mower deck is acting like a vacuum cleaner until the blades can no longer cut due the speed of forward travel.

The belly mower has only so much cutting edge available at any second and limited space to lift and throw the cuttings and the three blades and air baffles are acting like a wet vac in water pulling it down.
