Ok, I admit I am confused. I just purchased a Shaver HD-10H used that had been used on the front of a Bobcat. Yesterday while finishing up on converting the skid steer mount to a 3-point mount I noticed 3 hoses with ends on them. All the manuals and pics only show two. One for pressure and the bigger one for return. I looked a little deeper and there seems to be some sort of hydraulic device mounted on the base plate under the control valve assembly. I am working from memory here as I don't have it in front of me at the moment. I think the odd (3rd) line (pressure) goes into this diverter manifold looking thing and one output goes to the control valve also.

It appears to be a factory installation but I could be wrong. Why would a third hose be used on a Bobcat? We know one is pressure and one a return. So, what is the third?

That could the self contained mounting package for skid steers if it has a reservoir tank. If it was on a skid steer equipped with a plastic reservoir, the driver had to lower the return pressure before dumping it into the skid steer tank. On a tractor, it simply dumps into the hydraulic reservoir without being slowed down.

The hose cold be for the base tilt cyl.

Since it was used on a Bobcat, it had lift and tilt and maybe they didn't need the use of the cyl.

There is probably a lock up assembly to keep the cyl from moving if not using hyd for the base tilt.

Look at page 48 . Do you have these three hoses connected?

Does the valve have three levers? Two of the spools are for the two way tilt.

How about some pictures of the control valve.

Three hoses.

Pressure hose to valve G17

Return hose from valve to tank G20

Hose to drive cyl. G15

Any hose hanging down would be from the valve work ports to the tilt cyl .
